Cities and local authorities are the linchpin when it comes to addressing global challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change and conflict. Indeed, “[t]he sustainable development fight will be won or lost in our cities” – this was the sentiment of the 10th World Urban Forum which took place in the United Arab Emirates in February 2020.

The ETC annual report 2018 is online!
We are pleased to announce that the 2018 annual report of the ETC is now available online. Much has changed for the ETC in the last year and we were proud to start 2018 with a new work-programme, a breadth of partners and projects, and an expanded thematic scope.
A cause to celebrate and contemplate – 70 years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights
It is city and municipal administrations that are the closest to citizens directly and who are well-equipped to render human rights a lived experience in their procedures and interactions with citizens.
Expanding our scope
The local and regional implementation of human rights has been at the heart of the ETC’s agenda since its establishment in 1999. In 18 years of activity, the ETC has successfully positioned itself as a forerunner in the field, offering trainings and intensive research on the local, national and regional levels.
