On 24 June, the Province of Styria hosted the 20th edition of FairStyria Day in the Joanneum Quarter in Graz. This annual event focuses on development policy and provides a platform to showcase the efforts of Styrian associations and organisations working towards global justice.
This year’s FairStyria Day centred on the fifth United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 5): achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls. As part of the programme, the UNESCO Centre presented its current webinar series on women’s rights at the local level, featuring discussions with decision-makers and elected officials from various African cities.
The event also attracted great interest from students, particularly in the Human Rights Advisory Board’s youth journalism project “Kenne deine Rechte”. Young people aged 14 to 24 can still apply to participate in the 2025/2026 project year until 31 July 2025.
