After a vivid debate, the Austrian National Parliament voted in favour of the agreement between the Republic of Austria and UNESCO to establish the International Centre for the Promotion of Human Rights at the Local and Regional Levels under the auspices of UNESCO. The new Category II Centre is the second of its kind worldwide and is hosted by the European Training and Research Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (ETC) in Graz, Austria.
