Join us for a unique 3-day online capacity-building event to promote human rights, equality, and diversity at the local level.
During the workshop, participants will receive input and get acquainted with the most pertinent concepts relevant to Human Rights protection at the local level, with a specific focus on the advancement of women’s rights. Participants will take part in a guided discussion and analyse concepts, arguments, and evidence backing gender programmes and policies in their respective cities. Together, they will identify conditions that enable the implementation of policies and programmes, identify key stakeholders, and exchange experiences on how to engage them.
People engaged in the formulation, implementation, evaluation or research of policies at the local level, as well as representatives of civil society organisations, academia and the interested public are encouraged to register for the event at http://www.humanrightsgolocal.org/alga-registration/.
Advance registration is required, participation is free of charge. The workshop will be held online in English.
This online capacity-building workshop is designed as part of the efforts of the International Centre for the Promotion of Human Rights at the Local and Regional Levels under the auspices of UNESCO to promote human rights, democracy, and diversity on the local level through training and capacity-building for local and regional authorities in Africa. It is organized in close cooperation with the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Sciences in the Arab States – Cairo and the African Local Government Academy (ALGA) of UCLG Africa.
